A Mountain Hike: A Play
Characters
Diane Barbara Sal
Diane: Oh Barbara! This moutain hike is going to be so exciting!
Barbara: I don’t know Diane. It can be dangerous, and I’m not ready. I’m too young.
Diane: You just don’t want to try something new. We’ve explored many other places, but we didn’t write them on our blogs. We wrote them on documents. So when we finish, I will write about it on my blog. Besides, fear exists only in our minds; we have to learn to enjoy exploring. In the same way, I’m sure you’ll have fun!
Sal: Yes, Barbara, Diane is right! We will explore the top of the moutain, and maybe find some treasures if there are caves nearby! We might even see avalanches where we’ll have to be careful.
Barbara: Mhm… well, I’m still afraid. All of those things look great to explore, but what if we get injured while climbing?
Sal and Diane Together: That’s the thrill! That’s why we are going to the hike!
Barbara: Well… okay, let’s go.
The three climbed the mountain holding on to the ladder, moving with their shoes, and having their other tools.
Diane: Ahh.. take a look at this! This is a cave, let’s go inside. The treasure is awaiting us! But wait… be careful of the avalanche before we climb to the cave.
They were on their way when…
Sal: Help! I fell from the avalanche!
Diane: We must save Sal! He is going to fall otherwise! Sal, be patient otherwise you will hurt youself! Barabara, both of us should climb down.
Barbara: No way! We are going to risk ourselves like Sal!
Diane: Well, so be it! It’s going to be the greatest adventure of our lives!
Barbara: Whoa!
The two jumped after Sal, and Diane got hold of Sal just in time as they went flying back to the ground.
Diane: We got you, Sal!
The three landed, and Barbara spoke.
Barbara first: Wow! This wasn’t so bad after all.
Sal: You’re my hero, Diane!
The three laughed as they climbed down the mountain to go back. This was the greatest adventure.
