Should cell phones be banned in schools? This has been a very big debate in classrooms and schools. Some people think that they should be allowed for emergency and learning purposes. Before I can state my opinion, I would like to ask you, do you think cell phones should be allowed in schools?
According to me, no. Cell phones should not be allowed in schools. My reasons are because teachers can't teach if students are on their phones texting each other about what they are going to do after school, students won't be able to interact with their classmates and share their ideas which is a big part of education, and students will not be able to pay attention to their teachers whose responsibility is to have the students understand the material.
My first reason why cell phones should be banned is teachers can't teach if students are texting all day about what they are going to do after school. This can result to them not getting good grades and not be able to get a high education. This can be bad for the schools because the government is more interested in funding schools who have students getting good scores on tests like the PARCC than students who are scoring low. Teachers will get less pay and then they will not work in schools, after all, they have to earn money too!
